  1. This is exactly what I need! I started a blog but have no clue about monetization. Excited to learn the different ways bloggers make money!

  2. Just discovered your blog about blogging – I read very carefully, the articles are very well structured, logical and without unnecessary “water”. So thank you for all your work and soul you put here. Question: what should be the ratio of promotional articles to informational / educational? Or maybe even % for each of the five revenue streams?

    1. Hi Denis, thank you for your kind words about my blog. It very much depends on your monetization strategy. So, for example, with ads – every post will have ads, so every post will be both promotional and informational. With affiliate marketing, you can get away with every post having one or more affiliate links in it, so long as they are also informational. With products and services, you’ll make most of your sales via email marketing, so you should make all your posts informational, but with a CTA to sign up for your lead magnet. (Though it’s totally OK to mention your products occasionally, where relevant – just don’t expect to make many sales directly from a blog post) And finally, with sponsored posts – this is the only one where you have to be careful and really think about the balance of sponsored posts to non sponsored posts. There’s not one perfect ratio, but I’d go for something like 1 in 4 as a rough steer. Hope that helps! Eb 🙂

  3. Hi Eb.

Thank you for your tips. I’ve been writing for many years, but I paused to explore other online jobs. Now, I’m focusing on generating income through my writing again. Wish me luck. Your blog is incredibly helpful and inspiring. I’m also looking for people to collaborate with, even though maybe I say I was reborn, starting all over again. Thank you!

  4. Hello,
I read your article and I understood everything but I have some issues in blogging. I want your help.
Then how can I contact you for this.
    Please 🙏

  5. Your post gave me a lot to reflect on. I sometimes wonder if it’s realistic to start a blog today, since it feels like the internet is already full of content. But reading your explanation about different income streams makes me see that there’s still room, as long as I can find a specific angle.

I’m still not sure what niche I should commit to, though, do you think it’s better to start broad or focus right away?

    1. Great to hear! Yes – I 100% think it is still possible to be successful with a new blog. But you are definitely much more likely to achieve success in today’s climate if you niche down and pick a small focused niche rather than a broad niche. It is very difficult to start in a broad niche and be successful these days.
